The reason I went with the CPX-2 was because it has no external/manual safety to disengage. The supposed "Newly designed" CPX-1 has fixed the safety problem by a guard molded into the frame. .

Technically, for a double-action pistol, a manual safety is more or less optional. The long and stiff trigger pull is often adequate to prevent accidental discharge. SCCY probably realized this and decided to introduce the CPX2 without manual safety.
