The KSG's more complex double magazine and shell release system was/is more prone to feed problems. Kel-Tec is apparently doing a much better job with their long guns then their older pistols. If you look closer at the KSG and KS7 the receiver and internals are pretty heavy duty parts. The receiver is a formed hardened steel that's very strong.
