A THF also must be on the hate list for TH to be active. It can't just stand there and give the effect. TH is actually a type of debuff. So it is safe to say that the Thief must act offensively against the target to apply the effect, and not simply gain hate with a non-offensive ability or spell on a party member with enmity.I'm pretty sure he meant aeolian edge and there's just a confusion based on his wording.
