Works most of the year (even winter a lot of the times) and then when the grass happens to run out I put a critical hay pile that a 10x5 patch seems to keep stocked for as long as I need. 3. If you want them to graze give them area with wild grass. And make sure they are herbivores. technicaly you can just put a stockpill on an unroofed storage but it will be damaged by weather. So better do a little feeding house with walls & roof ;p.
